Zzzzzzzz....

Raleigh slept for 6 hours and 15 minutes straight last night!  It was amazing!  The previous record was 5 hours, but that was 3 weeks ago and he hadn't done that in a while.  Maybe Raleigh is growing!  We're going to put him in the same pajamas tonight. :)

Automatic Sprinkler

Raleigh just pee'd on Leanne during a diaper change.  It had been a while since he did that.  Maybe he didn't like how she dressed him this morning...

One Month Old!

It's hard to believe that a whole month has passed already.  It has been an amazing ride  - and we were awake to enjoy so much of it!  (Thanks, Raleigh!)  To celebrate Raleigh's one-month birthday, we had pizza and wine with Johan and Liesl.

Raleigh weighs about 10 pounds now (if our bathroom scale is accurate).  He's getting more and more enjoyable every day!  He tries to bat at toys an even coos in his sleep now (they sound a little like grunts - so manly!).  He even settled into a routine, of sorts: he eats about every 2-3 hours during the day, every hour right before bed, and every 3-4 hours at night.  Leanne graduated Raleigh on to his 0-3 month wardrobe, since the newborn clothes are getting a little tight and we've already worn all the newborn clothes a few times.  It's time to start working our way through the next size!

Tuesday, Leanne had a 4 week postpartum check up.  The doctor said Leanne is doing great (especially after she realized it had only been 4 weeks, not 6).  We showed her some pictures from Raleigh's first hour of life.  The doctor asked for a 5x7 of one of them - it's not just going on the wall, but in a frame of it's own, since Raleigh is so special! :)

Happy birthday, Little Man.  We can't wait to see what you have in store for our little family next month!

Tub Bath

Raleigh got his first tub bath Saturday.  At Nana's request, we've covered the peepee in the pictures.  Here, with a wash cloth -

(We will be more creative in future bath photos....)  We dressed Raleigh in one of our favorite outfits, then took a quick stroller ride to Dulce Vita to pick up a pizza for ourselves.  The weather was beautiful Saturday - probably the best ever for a Rice graduation!

First Bottle

Erik gave Raleigh his first bottle early yesterday morning.  Erik said it was like feeding a baby goat when he was little ...times infinity!  Raleigh seemed to enjoy it, too.

Belly Button!

Raleigh's cord fell off.  He is now the proud owner of a belly button!

Second Week

April 27, 2011 - Like father, like son...  (Neither knew Leanne took this picture - look at how both their mouths are open!)

April 28, 2011 - Raleigh's second bath was a breeze.  Maybe he remembered how much better he felt after the first one! :)

April 29, 2011 - Leanne finally captured Raleigh's "sweet little boy" look.

April 30, 2011 - We decided to check out the Saturday clinic at Raleigh's pediatrician's office.  Raleigh had crusty eyes, which we were pretty sure was blocked tear ducts, but we wanted to make sure, since the office would be closed Sunday.  The pediatrician said that's what it was and to keep doing what we were doing.  We did get another weight - 7 lbs 14 ounces - another 3 oz gain from Tuesday!  Way to go, Raleigh!

May 1, 2011 - Raleigh really started showing interest in our faces today - still waiting on a "real" smile, though.

He also loves the mobile we put by the changing table.

May 2, 2011 - Raleigh ate non-stop today, so we're expecting another gain tomorrow!

May 3, 2011 - Raleigh's two week checkup was today - he weighed in at 8 pounds!  Good job, Raleigh!
