Our move to Singapore

After hearing about our move for months and spending five weeks without Mommy, it was finally time for the whole family to move to Singapore!

Packers came and put everything we would move into boxes.

The boxes went onto a truck. Most would go onto a ship, to reach our new apartment in Singapore TWO months later! Some boxes got to fly on an airplane, so they only took two weeks to get to us.

We saved time to say goodbye to some of our good friends.

The next day, we left Houston. Our first flight was to San Francisco.

The brothers did a great job in the airport and on the plane.

After stretching our legs in San Francisco, it was time for a long ride to Singapore - on a Dreamliner!

We were so excited!

But it had also been a very long day.

After a quick nap and sleeping through dinner, there was still plenty of time for movies.

After dealing with lost luggage, we got everything else to our new apartment.

Raleigh and August love our new apartment. It has a balcony and a lot of space to run around, especially since we don't have much furniture.

The grounds of our apartment have a few playgrounds and a pool especially for kids.

There is a lot of space to run around and ride bikes. There is even a (shallow) koi pond for them to fall into!

The first week or two was rough. Jet lag can be tough...

There is a 13 hour time difference, so the middle of the night in Singapore is the middle of the day in Houston. We'd wake in the middle of the night ready to go, but had nothing to do.

We tried to stay active in the day. We swim a lot at our apartment.

We also explore Singapore, but since we don't have a car anymore, we take the subway to get places.

And buses--they even have double decker buses here!!!

The Botanic Gardens are breathtaking, especially when you're chasing two boys.

And Singapore has a lot of really cool buildings, old and new.

We also rode a cable car to a small island called Sentosa.

Merlions are a symbol for Singapore--they have the head of a lion and the body of a fish.

August still talks about the aquarium with the sunken ship. (We will discover places like Universal Studios later).

But it's not all fun and games in Singapore. Since we live here now, Raleigh and August go to school here. We still ride our scooters and bikes to school, but at the very end of our journey, we use a bridge to cross the street. The boys' school is the building with the orange roof.

August is enjoying being in the "big kid" class.

It is nice to have a brother with you when you are going to a new school.

And one more thing--someone had a birthday... Can you guess how old?

Cheers to August turning 3!

Goodbye friends! We'll send you more pictures later! We hope you are doing well.
